My dissection of "The Instrumental" by Lupe Fiasco

My Dissection of:  The Instrumental by Lupe Fiasco The opening line begins with: “& he never lies x2, He just sits and watch the people in the box, everything he sees he absorbs and adopts, he mimics and he mocks it…” Diving right in, Lupe throws us into a story about a sitting man. Emphasis on "SITTING"   The protagonist is pictured as complacent watching society through "THE BOX" basically  the media, our phones, our belief systems etc.  Here he pokes fun at others and takes on those he presumably admires personas/personality. What Lupe is saying is that many of us get lost in  watching so deeply  & then when we recognize it, then we move counterproductive to our evolution and then we begin the cycle all over again. We mimic, we resent, we return. A continuous paradox where addiction and escape reside in the very same place. “H ave the locksmith, see the box as, locked in the box Ain't got the combination to unlock, it That's why he watches, scare...

A thousand splendid suns: Vague Thought's

"The story of our country, one invader after another...we're like those walls up there. Battered, and nothing pretty to look at, but still standing."

Afghanistan has been through a lot of wars, their country has been dictated by horrible powerful leaders as well as being invaded and attacked by foreigners. Through all the thing's that the country has been through one would assume that their country would be weak and worthless one would assume that the country would have given up. But they haven't, most have been and grown very strong and remain standing by their country.

Much like the walls the people are damaged but they're still standing they're still strong enough to keep on going on with their life. Miriam and Laila are two girl children who have both been through very hard situations at a very young age.

Miriam saw her mother's body after she committed suicide, how very traumatic and painful we can only imagine that may have been for her. & what strength must she possess to carry on, to live on and not die inside that very moment. She then stayed with her father where she was extremely unwanted by his wife's, so unwanted that they quickly found a suitor for the 15 year old Mariam. See they wanted her gone... no matter to whom she was being given to, they just wanted her gone. In good riddance.

While Laila lost her family and the man she loved at 14, she had no other choice to marry Tariq because he was her only option, the only way she could see herself living a somewhat stable life, somewhere safe enough to grow her unborn child that belonged to her passed on lover.

With son much to deal with, handle and bare at such a very young age.
One could only wonder how much more can they withstand? How much strength must they have to carry on day by day, month by month, year by year. You can tell the almighty is by your side when you're able to withstand even the tsunami of waves.
